For if you didn't know... (inspired by Nadine Stair)
"For if you didn't know, this is what life is made of"
There's a longer poem, often attributed to Borges, but written by Nadine Stair, 'if i had my life to live over again'... this line isn't actually in it, but it gets tossed around a lot and i love it's simplicity. You can put whatever meaning into it that works for you. I find it beautiful and all encompassing, but mostly I come back to this line when I learn a life lesson that makes me appreciate the things that make up a life.
(It's also interesting to me that an 85 year old woman wrote a fabulous poem and it was credited to a man : this moment too, can be covered by this quote!Ha!)
Collage made with vintage paper, textile and florals. Quote typed up on my trusty Corona typewriter and stitched with gold metal thread, which is meant to flow freely from the artwork, even when framed. Mounted on vintage ledger bookcover.
