Hello! I'm Molly Meng.
-I wear the hats of artist, teacher, collector, storyteller-
*
I am heavily influenced by my extremely loud and incredibly close family,
an errant scrap of paper, the beauty of operatic trillings,
the simple concept of kindness, overheard conversations,
the genius of rap, the thick cotton of an old book page,
and the magic of theremins.
I am absolutely passionate about nature
and create work to appear as affected by the natural world:
Aged by the environment but in a much loved way.
I thrill at both large and small commissions and leading creative workshops.

I was invited to take part in this incredibly fun talk with Margret Petrie about
art, process, getting stuck!
getting unstuck!
those pesky monkey-mind thoughts,
and lots of other topics!
You can listen to the laughs and hopefully be inspired to get into your own scraps!

SFCB, a favorite institution in my old stomping grounds of San Francisco, invited me to give a little overview of my work-life in their "From The Bench" series (and there are SO many great artists in the line-up! check em out!)

Some Really Lovely Press about my work...
Issue 52 of UPPERCASE Magazine, for the creative and curious, and a very favorite of mine.
Always a huuuuge honor to be included in THE magazine for inspiration,
beautiful artwork, thoughtful insights, and a great place to find your next favorite artist.
Janine asked me to write a piece on the concept of procrastination as process
after she saw this little procrastination piece of mine (below right)
It was actually hugely healing to do some research on something I always considered a poor trait;
something I referred to as "wasting time". I no longer truly see it that way.
It hasn't exactly been turned into a superpower yet, but I write about how one might reframe the mindset.

Strawberry Moon Magazine: A truly beautiful print magazine that I discovered this year -they graciously included my artwork and core values between their pages in Issue#3.
