Connecting With Collage
Saturday, September 19th, 11am-2pm

A perfect way to bring joy to your days:  Let's get our fingers flowing and our minds​ melding into images, colors and shapes...

in a workshop filled with techniques to practice and play with - applicable to your own future creative projects. 
Like all great artists, we'll begin with the blank page and apply our learned collage elements.

Students will explore and practice the concepts of layering, paper tearing, using different adhering tools, color-ways and composition.  A variety of techniques will be introduced such as applique, stamping, pop-up extensions.
We’ll discuss the important joy of using originals and the alternatives.

Participants will leave with the beginnings of an exquisitely discovered collage practice
and likely some of their most favorite collages!

No prior experience needed.  All materials provided:

CURIO BOOK BOX
Sunday, September 20th, 11am-3pm
at "All The Materials" studio

One of my most popular workshops with so many techniques included.
A super fun exploration of creating your own special box from a vintage book, as well as a world of collage inspiration, tips and tricks.  We build out the interior of an old book to hold your multitude of secret treasures.  You can store it on your shelf, a secret only you know about, or show it off as a piece of artwork!

I lead workshops in my studio -  for a group of curious people who want to create together; this unique, intimate setting is the perfect spot to learn something new or gain insight, while using vintage materials, for a practice you already love.

The Traveling Postal Club

The Traveling Postal Club  is a free -to-all, community, mail-art project/gathering that fellow artist, Anne Baumgartner & I started in 2017.  Past public projects include: "Dear Los Angeles", "Tell Me One Thing" and "Remember This Name"

The ongoing project "Tell Me One Thing" was born out of a wish for wisdom.  If we can't physically be together, we can still let each other know one thing:  an 'i love you' or an 'i baked bread!' or 'did you know dogs can talk?' something that connects you and one other person.  The community comes in when you share that 'one thing, one letter, one person' with the rest of us.  The joy, the wisdom, the one thing spreads out to all of us missing our families and friends...  we can all do our part to lift each other up with one little thing!
