This time, it's actually in person!  And I'm very excited to be part of it!

Because it's a lovely time to get in the holiday spirit...
Learn how to create your own sustainable wrapping paper and gift tags, just in time for the holiday season!
Block Printing is one of the oldest styles of printmaking, used for thousands of years on paper and fabric alike.
During this workshop you will design & carve your very own "block" for printing on Kraft paper and gift tags.
You'll learn how to transfer images, design your own, and gain an introduction to the different kinds of supplies and tools that can be used in this exciting process.
Participants can expect to create & carve at least one unique block and leave with original prints on various paper sheets & gift tags and take their stamp home to use over and over!
No previous experience necessary. All materials provided
but, printing ink can get messy, so I highly suggest bringing an apron!

Space is very limited!

Perhaps this is the year you'd like to create a really marvelous, meaningful gift for a loved one...

The Concertina Book is a fantastic way to display your keepsakes: have it standing up to show off your artwork or lay it down and let the pages tell a story in themselves.  In this workshop, we'll be creating a hard-backed accordion-style book. You'll learn how to construct the book and learn a variety of collage techniques for all the juicy ephemera that comes in your kit.

Please Note this workshop offering is ONLINE
A kit will be mailed to you the week of 11/24
The zoom link to the workshop will be emailed to you the week of 12/1

We'll be working with vintage book pages, ephemera, paper, stamps, using paper and fabric, stencils and  templates and all sorts of construction concepts that can be included
in this small-but-mighty Concertina Book.

It's always a good idea to think about who this creation might be for... will it be for inspirational quotes and pages to keep your inspired for the new year? will it be a baby book? maybe for someone's birthday?
I highly recommend bringing some of your treasured, personal items to the table,
these can be flat or 3-d, family photos, letters, or copies of all,
to use for collaging into your book.

What begins as blank pages becomes an incredible creation and story telling art piece.
And, this holiday season, may just be the most special gift you make for someone...

The Traveling Postal Club

The Traveling Postal Club  is a free -to-all, community, mail-art project/gathering that fellow artist, Anne Baumgartner & I started in 2017.  Past public projects include: "Dear Los Angeles", "Tell Me One Thing" and "Remember This Name"

The ongoing project "Tell Me One Thing" was born out of a wish for wisdom.  If we can't physically be together, we can still let each other know one thing:  an 'i love you' or an 'i baked bread!' or 'did you know dogs can talk?' something that connects you and one other person.  The community comes in when you share that 'one thing, one letter, one person' with the rest of us.  The joy, the wisdom, the one thing spreads out to all of us missing our families and friends...  we can all do our part to lift each other up with one little thing!

You can see all about our other public/community mail art projects on IG.
If you love mail-art or letter writing and want to make a difference not only in somebody's mailbox, but in someone's day,
join us in writing to people anywhere, anytime.

HOW TO JOIN IN VIRTUALLY

Once you've created your mail-art, written your letter or postcard and have it ready to send, take a photo of the front and the back side
(cover-up the address) and tag us on Instagram @thetravelingpostalclub and/or use the hashtag #thetravelingpostalclub
or send it to us in a direct message (DM)
and we'll share your creativity
on The Traveling Postal Club Instagram feed for all to enjoy!
